The ASEAN Online Education Platform for Industry 4.0, developed by Arizona State University (ASU) and sponsored by the U.S.–ASEAN Center, is a centralized gateway to ASU-led learning opportunities that support upskilling and reskilling across the ASEAN region.

The platform features learning resources aligned with ASEAN priorities in areas such as advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies. Offerings are delivered through multiple ASU platforms and partners, with some available at no cost and others requiring a fee to earn a certificate.

Many courses on the platform are offered free of charge to eligible learners across ASEAN. Some advanced or specialized courses may involve a fee, particularly if they include:

  • Mentorship or live instruction

To register, learners can select the course content that best aligns with their areas of interests and stage of learning, and create an account directly with each learning opportunity. Learners will receive access instructions once enrollment is confirmed.

For courses that provide a certificate, learners who successfully complete course requirements, including assignments, assessments, and participation (if applicable), will receive a Certificate of Completion. For short form learning content, such as recorded lecture or short video, there will not be a certificate of completion. Certificates demonstrate successful participation but may not automatically equate to academic credit unless explicitly stated.
 

Some courses may be designed to align with U.S. higher education standards. However: Not all courses carry transferable academic credit. Credit eligibility depends on the specific course and participating university. Credit transfer is subject to the receiving institution’s policies.
 

If a course is eligible for academic credit, this will be clearly indicated in the course description.
 

Yes. The platform is designed to help learners build foundational knowledge and skills that may strengthen applications to degree programs, including those at Arizona State University (ASU) and other U.S. institutions. Certain courses may:
